Urme (Traces) is the name of the project aimed at achieving a formula that seeks knowledge, tradition, culture, and our connection with nature. It encompasses the universe of inner memories, deciphering their identity through the processes of formation and storage. The concept of 'trace' provides the self with a deeper understanding of memories, a sculpted transit journal, suitable for storing them throughout life. Traces are the concrete marks we leave in the past or create in the present, the testament of our existence.

"The space of the residency inspires me with its distinct temporal rhythm, where time seems to flow differently, without rush. This calmness and the lack of pressure allowed me to align myself with the surrounding environment. Additionally, the scarcity of resources challenged me to explore and learn how to create my own clay, using the materials available in this space. In doing so, by integrating local resources into my creative process and into the final works, I was able to develop a deeper connection with the place."
Louis Kareem Jamal, (b. Yemen), is a visual artist specialising in painting and a master's student at UNArte, Romania. Her work reflects multicultural experiences, blending elements of Yemeni heritage with the artistic influences she gained from living in Romania. Her art is an evocative journey into the depths of the 'personal traumas box,' where emotions and introspection collide in a search for inner peace. Her form of artistic expression is intricately woven with the threads of cultural roots, creating a tapestry of meaning and identity. Through her work, she invites us to become more self-aware of the present and our individual potential to contribute to the world.
